Waksberg Award Winner – Michael A. Hidiroglou
Statistics Canada is proud to announce that Michael (Mike) A. Hidiroglou has been selected as the recipient of theprestigious Waksberg Award. With nearly 40 years of service as a survey methodologist at Statistics Canada, Mike is recognized for his significant contributions to three key areas: business surveys, the development of estimation systems, and research in survey methodology.
As part of this honor, Mike will deliver the Waksberg Invited Address at the Statistics Canada Methodology Symposium. Additionally, he will author a paper for the *Survey Methodology* journal, scheduled for publication in the December issue.
Established in , the Waksberg Award honors the legacy of Joseph Waksberg, a pioneer in survey sampling who contributed extensively to survey statistics and methodology. Each year, an invited paper is written by a distinguished survey statistician, reflecting the blend of theory and practice that characterized Waksberg’s work. The Voice of the Philippines is a Philippine television reality singing competition that aired on ABS-CBN, and is based on the Dutch television series The Voice of Holland.[2][3][4][5] The show premiered on June 15, and was hosted by Toni Gonzaga and Robi Domingo.[6][7][8]Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo Mañalac, Lea Salonga, and serve as the four coaches and the judging panel of the show.[9][10][11][12]
