He is the lead singer, rhythm guitarist and main songwriter for Saint Asonia, but is best known as the co-lead singer, rhythm guitarist, and founding member of the rock band Three Days Grace. He co-founded the band in 1992, recording four albums with them before parting ways in 2013 (not counting two guest appearances on stage with the band in 2023) and eventually returning in 2024. In addition to his work with Three Days Grace and Saint Asonia, he has been involved in collaborations with other bands including Art of Dying, Apocalyptica, Breaking Benjamin, Skillet and Thousand Foot Krutch.

Adam Gontier is a Canadian musician best known as guitarist and lead vocalist of Canadian rock band Three Days Grace. He cites influences such as The Beatles, Sunny Day Real Estate, Jeff Buckley, Pearl Jam, and Alice in Chains. His interest in guitar started with his mother listening to all types of music while he was growing up. Adam stated on the Three Days Grace website, "My mother is a musician, so she's really the one who introduced me to the experience of performing live. She got me singing with jam bands in bars when I was 12 years old. The Seattle music scene really inspired me and my songwriting."
